Interacting with characters is a big part of the charm of Walt Disney World. So who should you meet? These are the best characters to meet at Walt Disney World.
Characters are everywhere at Walt Disney World. There are so many people to meet – you can give hugs, high fives, and hand shakes, and even get their autograph. If your kids are anything like mine, they will flip over getting to meet their favorite movie stars in real life.
With well over 50 characters to meet, you may not be able to see everyone. Of course, your kids will likely have their own must-see list. In addition to those characters who are special to your family, here are some characters that should it into your daily plans.
The Best Characters to Meet at Walt Disney World
Mickey Mouse
Of course, your first stop will probably be to meet the main mouse, himself, Mickey Mouse! He meets guests several places throughout Walt Disney World. But we love to see him right inside the gate at Magic Kingdom at Town Square Theater. This Mickey Mouse is the only one who actually talks to his guests! Through a bit of Disney magic, your family can chat with Mickey and he might even preform a magic trick.
Minnie Mouse
By far my favorite character interactions were at the Character Spot in Epcot, but that is just because of our daughter’s reaction to Minnie Mouse. I have never seen her smile that much for a picture in my life. She really couldn’t believe she was getting to meet Minnie Mouse. Minnie was so sweet to twirl in their dresses and kiss my son on the cheek. She is full of charm.
Goofy
From running up the walls, to dancing, and preforming crazy stunts, you never know what Goofy will be up to! This gargantuan character is the life of the party. Kids will get excited about his newest job as a stunt pilot in the circus (He’s The Great Goofini!) when you meet Goofy at Storybook Circus in Magic Kingdom.
Cinderella
Cinderella is so sweet. When we went to Disney World years ago, she asked my daughter what her favorite story was (she said “Brown Bear, Brown Bear”) then told her they would have to read that story with Jaq and Gus-Gus because they love stories. It was precious.
Side note: one of the funniest moments with our toddler was when the characters started signing her autograph book. We have a strict ‘no-coloring-in-books’ policy and she was appalled that they would draw in her book! She kept looking at me like, “MOM! Do you see what they’re doing!? Are you going to stop them!” I was dying.
Chewbacca
Chewbacca might just be my favorite character to meet at Walt Disney World. Watching that giant character bend down to hug my preschooler was incredible.
Our whole family got to do a Wookie ROAR with him and it was amazing!
Anna & Elsa
Of course, anyone with a daughter knows that Anna & Elsa are certified mega-stars. They have been all our daughter can talk about for years! It’s essential to have a FastPass+ to meet these sisters, and it is well worth it. My daughter had to show Elsa that they had matching dresses and Anna even called her ‘snowflake’ (yep, my heart melted right then and there).
Winnie the Pooh & Tigger
Winnie the Pooh and Tigger might just be the most lovable characters in the kingdom. They dance with the kids. They get kissed on the nose. They give hugs. They do it all! This is a can’t-miss character interaction in our book.
I will say that their queue is right outside the attraction ‘The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh’. It’s outside and in full sun, so it can get HOT. But this is the perfect spot to take a little one who is too small for Seven Dwarves Mine Train while you wait for your Rider Swap.
