How Many Days Should I Spend at Disney World?

August 3, 2018 by Megan Harney Leave a Comment

This is a common question for anyone planning a vacation to Walt Disney World – how many days should I spend at each Walt Disney World Park?

Of course the answer depends on your family and how long your vacation is, but we have some general guidelines that will be a great place to get you started. And of course, if you disagree with us, just share your opinions in the comments below! I would love to hear how much time you spend in each park.

How many days should you spend at Disney World?

According to my research, 6 days is the perfect length for a Disney World vacation. One day each at Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, either two days at Epcot and one day at Magic Kingdom (for older kids and adults) or two days at Magic Kingdom and one day at Epcot (for younger kids). This will leave room for a ‘rest day’ in the middle to hang out at your resort or hit Disney Springs.

You can always make a shorter trip work or spend a lot more time at the parks to enjoy a leisurely vacation, but in our opinion 6 days is the ideal Disney vacation.

I have more detailed posts about each of the four parks – find out exactly how long you should spend at each Disney World park, as well as a recommended touring plan, FastPass+ suggestions, and tips and tricks for getting the most out of your park days. Click through to each park below:

Of course, all of this might go out the window if you’re planning to attend a special event like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival, or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. These events add so many unique things to do that you may want to plan an extra day just to enjoy the event activities.
